The Journey

Yoga & Meditation are a cornerstones to my wellness practice.  Most of us feel overstimulated on a daily basis.  Life moves so fast and it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

I get it!  Read my blog about How Yoga Found Me.

If given time, the mind will quiet.  However, many of us carry so much tension, stress and trauma in our bodies that it feels impossible to sit still.  The body becomes a distraction for the mind.

Asana (the physical practice of yoga) was created to get the kinks out of the body so one can meditate.  Thus, the practices greatly compliment each other.  I practiced yoga for years before I was ever drawn to meditation.  When the mind is still, we are able to hear the wisdom of our higher self, our multi-dimensional self, our soul, our Source which some call God.

Through thousands of years of evolution, there are many different forms and styles of yoga (asana).  Although I find benefit in most, I experience a JOY-GASM when  practicing and teaching arm balances and inversions.

Arm balances evoke a sense of freedom and joy that’s hard to describe.  Turning upside-down causes a hormonal shift in the brain and body that boost the immune system and literally make you happier.  I live for the moments when I get to witness a student “take flight” for the first time.  When we bust through barriers of what we think we can’t do ON the mat, we start to discover our potential OFF the mat.  That joy, freedom and strength that we cultivate through our physical practice ends up spilling over into your lives!
