In case you haven’t heard, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve finally completed all my projects for Sleeping Beauty Awakened: Tools for the Modern Goddess.
After publishing the paperback in both color and black-and-white editions, I also released it on Kindle! If you’re wondering about the difference between the color and black-and-white versions, let me explain.
In Chapter 3, “Witches, Bitches, and the Energy Body,” I explore the chakra system within yogic philosophy. Each chakra is associated with a specific color. This chapter includes a chart outlining each chakra’s associations and what they govern within the mind/body/spirit system. In the color edition, the chart is beautifully color-coded, and there’s also a graphic illustrating the energy body.
The black-and-white edition presents everything in grayscale, and the energy body graphic is omitted. A few other chapters also contain charts, graphs, and recipes, which appear in color in the full-color edition but grayscale in the other. The information is the same in both versions, so it’s up to you: would you prefer something visually vibrant, or is a lower price point more important? The full-color edition costs $10 more due to higher printing expenses.
The Young Readers Edition is available exclusively in color. It features 5 of the 14 chapters, with all curse words and sexually explicit stories removed. It’s designed to provide empowering, age-appropriate material for young goddesses who have started menstruating (or will soon). This version includes chapters on the Divine Feminine, the history and cause of mean girls, and sexuality. My hope is that this text fosters meaningful conversations between women and girls, normalizing discussions about female hormones, menstrual cycles, pleasure, empowerment, and divinity. Consider gifting it to a young woman in your life this holiday season.
The part I’m most excited about, however, is the audiobook. My husband and I transformed our bedroom closet into a recording studio so I could narrate it myself. It’s 100% my voice, and I’m incredibly proud of the final product. Friends who’ve both read the hardcopy and listened to the Audible version have shared that they enjoyed the listening experience even more, saying it felt like I was right there with them, sharing stories. (At this time, I don’t have plans to release the Young Readers Edition on Audible. However, if enough people request it, I might reconsider.)
To complement the audiobook, I created the Sleeping Beauty Awakened: Workbook & Journal. This resource is specifically for audiobook listeners. It includes the “Going Deeper Questions” and space for journaling each self-inquiry prompt. Additionally, it contains the graphs, charts, recipes, references, and endnotes from the paperback. While I described each aspect as thoroughly as possible in the audiobook, I wanted to offer a visual option for those who prefer to see the content.
